Ezgi studied Biology at Istanbul University and then started her master's degree in Environmental Sciences at Boğaziçi University. However, she decided to change her career plan and left her master's degree to study Combined Arts at Yıldız Technical University. She is now a yoga instructor, owner of a small wooden jewelry business, and works in a fashion designer's shop. Knitting and sewing clothes for herself and her loved ones are her favorite activities.
"Why do you volunteer at Istanbul&I?"
I met Istanbul&I through Elif, the co-manager of the Turkish Speaking Club, and eventually, I volunteered upon joining the organization. When I started university, I had already worked voluntarily in several associations and organizations. Undeniably, volunteering in Istanbul&I has been beneficial for me after the pandemic. Meeting people from different cultures broadened my horizon and of course, by meeting different people, my geography knowledge has definitely improved :) I am very happy to be here. I hope I can do more for Istanbul&I in the future.
“Ezgi was one of the main reasons we carried on with the newly planned Language exchange Events (LEE). From a regular moderator in the English Speaking Club to a Language Exchange officer, Ezgi worked hard and kept encouraging the team during the developing period and after the launch of the event. I see Ezgi as the support system of the LEE, and seeing her around makes me feel at ease. Seeing her work with the team members is always fun. They never stop developing and she always ensures that their opinion is heard. Thank you Ezgi for stepping up and I wish you all the best!” - Zainab Alqritli, Events Coordinator.
